A year-round economy, and what that changes
Amery doesn’t live and die by summer traffic the way the river towns do. The hospital and clinic area anchors a steady healthcare workforce, and around it sits retail, the trades, and the ag-adjacent services that keep the surrounding townships running. That means demand is consistent instead of seasonal, and the businesses competing for it are the ones a local could name off the top of their head.
Steady demand is a good problem, but it hides a slow one. When the phone keeps ringing, nobody feels urgency about the website. So the site sits at whatever it was five or ten years ago, or never got built at all.
Being established isn’t the same as being findable
Plenty of good businesses in Amery have been here for decades and have almost nothing online to show for it. A site that hasn’t been touched since the last redesign, a Facebook page doing double duty as a homepage, or a listing with a phone number and not much else. None of that reaches the family that moved into town last spring and is searching for what you do on a phone, or the customer who has used you for years but can’t remember your hours and checks Google instead of calling.
